About Us

Thank you for your interest in Happy Paws Pet Camp.
We are a unique facility in that we do not cage our campers,
either day or night. We operate on the “submit to the pack” philosophy where the 2 legged people are the pack leaders, and the 4 legged ones are
the pack! Dogs are born and raised in packs, not cages!

Happy Paws is a camp. We organize activities that will mentally stimulate, as well as, exercise our campers, regardless of the weather! Our trained and experienced staff help even the youngest pups learn the art of socialization. We help everyone assimilate into the pack, within the group that is most in line with the dog’s size and temperament. In other words - you don’t need ear plugs to tour our facility. Our campers are happy - not stressed!

Campers 6 months or older must be spayed or neutered.

We are Located in the Smyrna-Vinings Area off S. Atlanta Road between Cooper Lake Road and Paces Ferry Road. For a map of our location, click here!

Visa & MasterCard Accepted!

Camp Hours Are:
Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

We offer Daycare, Boarding, & Training!

We offer a very active daycare program. Our staff does not just “baby sit” your dog. In the summer we have pools and water sports. On rainy days we run on the treadmill and relax watching movies and /or Animal Planet.

We host Valentine Dances and Easter Bone Hunts for our campers, as well as visits from Santa Paws! Let’s not forget the Halloween Costume contests.

Reservations are NOT required for daycare. We offer full and half days of daycare. Half days are 5 hours. We allow late pickups as late as 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. To attend daycare your dog must have passed our temperament test and be current on all shots.

Due to the nature of our socialized boarding, we only board our current day camp members. At night, we place baby crib mattresses out with clean sheets and blankets for the dogs to sleep on. Some choose to sleep with a friend - some want the mattress all to themselves. You can bring your dogs own bed; however, we find that they seem to prefer the mattresses.

We also provide cage less boarding for cats. We only board one cat family at a time!

We have a night staff member in every room that we have dogs sleeping. No dog is ever left alone! We allow Sunday drop off and pickups at no additional cost. Our boarding rates are based on a 24 hour period. If you drop off at 2 p.m., you have until 2 p.m. to pickup on your scheduled pickup date. To board with us, your dog MUST be a current daycare member with us and be current on all shots.

All campers must pass a temperament test before they can come for daycare, as not all dogs are candidates for an open society. The commitment of the parent is also an important factor to acceptance of a new candidate.

Temperament Test are by appointment only, and are given on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. To perform the test, we must have a written copy of your up-to-date shot records, including Bordetella which is also known as Kennel Cough. Shot records must show date given, not when next shot is due. For a complete vaccination list go to REQUIRED SHOTS.

The cost of the test is $20.00, and must be paid in advance of the test.  If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance of you’re scheduled appointment, the money will be refunded to you.  If your dog passes the test than it be applied to our camp membership fee of $30.00 per dog.  All new dogs must have daycare experience before they are allowed to board with us (between 5 and 7 days). Dogs who are tested one day may NOT board the next day. We do not test for those who are looking for boarding only.

For training, we recommend the services of Tom Zebrowitz of Bark Busters. He comes to your home and trains YOU - not your dog. Training is a life style with your dog, not a one or two week activity.

For those first time parents and/or parents of a new puppy - we offer basic training classes by our Happy Paws Personnel - Keith Brown Jr. These classes are designed to teach basic commands and walking on a leash. All training is reinforced during daycare.
